Batool Youhenna

My name is Batool Youhenna. I joined Dr. Marina Kalyuzhnaya lab in June 2016. I applied at San Diego State University majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology. I intend to continue my education by attending graduate school and furthering my knowledge in cellular and molecular biology. My project is about utilizing biogases using three types of methanotrophs as source of energy. The goal is to examine whether these three types of alphaproteobacteria can utilize methane in which it would allow us in the future to develop a system to reduce a major greenhouse such as methane. I joined Dr. Kalyuzhnaya lab because doing research will allow me to gain more experience and meet new people with diverse background. I can use those experiences to widen my understanding of how to be a better researcher.
