The IMSD Program is a structured research training program that provides year-round academic and professional development activities. IMSD scholars increase their competitiveness for entering directly into Ph.D. programs.
Student benefits include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Assistance on research laboratory placements
- Year-round financial assistance for your research development. Undergraduates are paid 15-20 hours/week during the academic semesters, and up to 30 hours/week over the summer (depending on the budget)
- Year round research and academic mentoring

- Travel funds to present at local, and national conferences in your field
- Laboratory training supplies
- Networking with faculty, staff and other science students
