Dr. Wells’ research focuses broadly on cancer-related disparities and cancer communication, with the specific interest in patient navigation interventions, community health worker interventions, and the development and evaluation of multiple types of health communication interventions. Projects include the development and evaluation of patient navigation programs to improve cervical cancer prevention and breast cancer survivorship care; cervical cancer screening, and human papillomavirus; and the evaluation of multimedia interventions providing education about cancer-related research.

Chris Mi, Ph.D.

Dr. Mi’s research interests are in electric and hybrid vehicles. He has taught tutorials and seminars on the subject of HEVs/PHEVs for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the IEEE, workshops sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He has delivered courses to major automotive OEMs and suppliers, including GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Hyundai, Tyco Electronics, A&D Technology, Johnson Controls, Quantum Technology, Delphi, and the European Ph.D. School.

Iana Castro, Ph.D.

Dr. Castro’s research focuses on understanding how factors that consumers encounter in retail and service environments (i.e., products and product displays, employees, other consumers, and holistic environmental factors) can have an effect on consumer emotions, evaluations and choices. Currently, she is working on understanding the factors that influence how parents and children select food products in food retail environments. Dr. Castro is the Director of BrightSide Produce, a program focused on increasing the accessibility, availability, and affordability of fresh fruits and vegetables in underserved San Diego communities. Her teaching interests include Retail Marketing Methods, Marketing and Sales for Social Impact, and Strategic Marketing Management.
