Three-Dimensional Modeling of San Diego Bay Hydrodynamics

This project details curvilinear grid creation methods and model application in studying the hydrodynamics of San Diego Bay, California. The entrance channel of San Diego Bay is unique in its use as a conduit for naval submarines and other port traf c and lends itself well to application for the GCOM fully three-dimensional curvilinear approach. Speci cally, estimates of tidal ow, temperature, salinity, and current velocity at small scales within the bay are computed and analyzed.
