Administrative Core


The goal of the Administrative Core is to provide infrastructure, personnel, and other resources to support the Partnership’s day-to-day operations. This includes support for optimal coordination and logistics for the Partnership to ensure effective and synergistic performance. Synergy, however, does not only take place within the San Diego State University (SDSU) and the University of California San Diego Moores Cancer Center (UCSD MCC), but rather across the two institutions and with the community, which is a key strength of our Partnership.

We are very fortunate that UCSD MCC and SDSU are within 15 miles of each other, which allows us to conduct business at whichever location makes the most practical sense. In addition, ready access to conference rooms and other meeting facilities is available at both locations. In essence, we see ourselves as one Administrative Core with staff and Principal Investigator representation from both institutions. Because of this, we have been able to implement most, if not all, of the functions of the Administrative Core as a single entity, with the same staff person serving similar functions for both institutions regardless of where their effort is covered.
