Health fairs have been a common approach to offering screening services and health information to underserved communities.  In San Diego, California the local chapter of MANA ( has spearheaded the transition of an annual health-related workshop 20 years ago to an annual one-day community health festival that brings breast and cervical cancer screening and other screening services to the local Latino community.

This video highlights the collaboration SDSU/UCSD Cancer Center Comprehensive Partnership has had with MANA de San Diego and various community partners to sustain the effort over the years.
